THE INSIDER: Gloria Estefan’s Broadway Musical Gets Its Stars

Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio, are the ultimate power couple — Gloria has sold over 100 million records herself, and together they have 26 Grammy Awards. Now the Estefans are taking all of that musical genius to Broadway. Tickets are currently on sale for the October premiere of musical “On Your Feet!” at the Marquis Theatre in New York City. The Estefans revealed to “The Insider” co-host Louis Aguirre that this production did not come to be overnight. “Oh, my God; they came to us four to five years ago,” Emilio explained. “It wasn’t the right time, but now is the right time. I think that our story inspired a lot of people.” Gloria dished that the idea for a musical came to her in a premonition long ago, after the fateful 1990 tour bus accident that left the “Everlasting Love” singer with a broken back and the possibility of never walking again.
